Polarisierung gefährdet Kapitalismus
Abstract
For its smooth operation, capitalism requires limits to wealth. The amount of capital needed is limited because of competition and efficiency in the utilisation of investible funds. Other forms of wealth do not have a role within the capitalist process of applying capitalist wealth productively such that all forms of non-capitalist wealth hollow out capitalism in the increasing political and economic deadweight of rents. The rich do not want capitalist competition, but non-capitalist privilege. Capitalism therefore requires the permanent obsolescence and devalorisation of capitalist wealth achieved through technical progress. The influence of non-capitalist wealth has to be permanently checked. The struggle against politically guaranteed high incomes, basically rents, by means of high levels of employment and negotiating power of labour are essential preconditions for maintaining a functioning capitalism
