Abstract

Digitalization has triggered societal, political and social transformation processes that require new boundaries to be drawn between the public and private spheres. While discussions about the private sphere are predominantly concerned with the protection of privacy, the following considerations focus on property. In particular, theories of digital capitalism are taken into account, which show that not only questions about the protection of privacy, but also about its entanglement with property are virulent, as illustrated by two examples of 'precarious' privacy.
