Abstract

The paper starts with Europe’s Crisis concerning the question of the reform of the Common European Migration and Asylum System (CEAS). It critically discusses the relation of solidarity and flight facing several discourses: the concept of solidarity within the CEAS as well as solidarity potentials of EU citizenship and practices of civil society, e.g. the German “Welcome movement” and current debates on radical solidarity. The discussion focuses limits of European solidarity and sketches a solidarity differing from European status quo.
