Abstract

In my contribution I want to examine the opportunities of AI-assisted war planning for any given military unit. Paradigmatically, I base this on the “spectator” (Hannah Arendt), who can create playful freedom to restrain militaristic actions. AI control systems can strengthen the spectator role by offering an “unbiased” perspective on violent conflicts. From this perspective, the potentials of wargames should be outlined to detect and deter war crimes at an early stage and to channel human reactions of bloodlust and revenge.
